flood in Assi Ghat
Assi Ghat is the most popular destination in Varanasi for pilgrims and tourists. Especially, boating rides on the Ganga River attract tourists. But during the rainy season from June to August, the river is off limits for boating.
From 10th August, the rain has been heavy and the Ganga River is now flooding Assi Ghat. Boatmen are now busy helping people who need to go to their shops that is on Assi Ghat.
Today, it keeps raining from the morning. It is concerned that the floods will spread further.
