Flash Appeal on fire in Labutta Township [Myanmar]
On 4th February night, a big fire was occurred in Laputta Township, Ayeyarwarddy Region where we established DRR Activity Centre at No. 2 Basic Education High School in 2015 . The teachers and community members who received and certified Basic Fire Training Course, voluntary assisted extinguishing the fires with the Fire Services Department. Despite of those efforts, the fire spread very fast and reached houses of 120 students in the Township. All schools in Myanmar are scheduled to have exam from 15th February onwards, which decide the future of the students especially for the students of 10th standard who are facing for matriculation exam. Therefore, SEEDS Asia Myanmar would like to support and assist to secure the lives of students and teachers by providing basic needs and materials for schooling as “school kits” to the affected students and teachers.
