DRR training for a flood-prone village [India]
On June 12-13, SEEDS Asia conducted 2days DRR training with NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) for the village of the flood-prone area in Varanasi.
〈DRR training -Day1-〉
On the first day, SEEDS Asia shared about basic concept of DRR and WASH for the day, and NDRF gave hands-on training of first-aid. Participants learned and practiced various first-aid skills. Also, they did role play of call an ambulance when they find a injured.
〈DRR training -Day2-〉
On the second day, participants made a hazard map of the village they live. They highlighted areas that are vulnerable to a flood and safe places to evacuate. Also, NDRF showed the video of flood rescue, and demonstrated how to make floating devices. At the end of the training, all participants who completed this DRR training were given a certificate.
