Initiatives at partner schools featured as good practices [Philippines]
The SEEDS Asia project on school-based disaster risk reduction education (2014 – 2017) was implemented in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Philippines, Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education and JICA. In the project, SEEDS Asia worked closely with schools in Cebu to integrate disaster risk reduction topics into the existing local curriculum. Some of the schools involved in the project have now been featured in the recently issued “Good Practices on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management” magazine by DepEd!
This would never have been possible without the sustained efforts by the schools, and SEEDS Asia is grateful that the DepEd Central Office highlighted and recognized the efforts of the schools and shared their initiatives nationwide.
