SEEDS Asia board chairperson and SEEDS India awarded the Sasakawa Award!
From 23rd to 28th May, the seventh Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction was held in Indonesia. On 25th, SEEDS Asia’s Board Chairperson Prof. Rajib Shaw and our sister organization SEEDS India were announced as winners of the Sasakawa Award, under individual and organizations categories respectively!
The Sasakawa Award for Disaster Risk Reduction recognizes individuals and institutions that make efforts to reduce disaster risk and was established in 1986 (source: https://globalplatform.undrr.org/sasakawa-award). There are three individual and three organization awardees this year.
It is a true pleasure to know that SEEDS’s long term commitment to disaster risk reduction and our Board Chairperson’s achievement of creating synergies of research and implementation are widely recognized.
