Lecture at Kobe Gakuin University [Headquarters]

On 10th July, SEEDS Asia’s Executive Director Mitsuko Otsuyama gave a lecture as a part-time lecturer for Disaster Risk Reduction Special Lecture IV at Kobe Gakuin University.

This course invites a wide variety of practitioners of international cooperation to brief about their respective projects/programs. Dr Erika Eda, the course coordinator, has been involving SEEDS Asia as one of the lecturers since 2018.

Some students after the lecture commented: “We had heard about other international cooperation projects from other lecturers, but this time, the topic was particularly focused on the field of disaster risk reduction. Disaster risk reduction requires cooperation, and I was surprised to know that many NGOs have worked in that field.” There was also a student from Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture where SEEDS Asia have extensively worked in its disaster recovery.

Since the university and SEEDS Asia are both in Kobe, and the many of the students major in disaster risk reduction in the program, we are quite eager to actively partner with the university.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Eda and express our gratitude to the students at Kobe Gakuin University.
